The primary focus of the Section of Hospital Dentistry is to instruct students in the role of dentistry for the medically compromised patient, either in an out-patient setting or in a hospital setting.

Students are also trained to recognize cancer of the mouth in dental patients, and become aware of treatment options and outcomes.

The Section of Hospital Dentsitry is fortunate to have a number of volunteer faculty who have unselfishly given their valuable time throughout the years to participate in our teaching programs. The clinical expertise and private office experience they bring to our classrooms and clinics are invaluable. The Section is very grateful for the volunteer faculty, and welcomes the interest of additional volunteer dentists.
