Alumni Reunion and Awards Luncheon

Award Luncheon
Luncheon at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel

On Saturday, May 3, 2008, nearly 400 alumni, faculty and friends were at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel, attending our annual luncheon.

This year, we honored:
Carol Bibb, '78: Alumnus of the Year
Donald Fisher: Honorary Alumnus of the Year
Roger Lent, our outgoing Alumni President,
and the classes of ’68, ’73, ’78, ’83, ’88, ’93, ’98, and 2003

The Class of 1968, which was the first class to graduate from UCLA School of Dentistry, celebrated its 40-year reunion. Eighteen of the 28 members of the class were in attendance.

Dean’s Reception

The Dean’s Reception followed the luncheon and was held in the Marriott’s Marquis Ballroom from 5:00 – 7:30 in the evening. Nearly 700 guests joined Dean No-Hee Park for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. This annual reception is the consistent hit of the CDA Spring Scientific Session’s social events.

Silent Auction

The auction took place during the luncheon and reception. Bidders had a choice of 20 individual items which ranged from dental equipment and materials to hotel stays and flights. The auction raised $5,000 for the Alumni Fund which, in addition to covering the cost of alumni activities, is devoted to enhancing the experiences of UCLA dental students.
