AN INVITATION From

Testimonials

What alumni and students are saying. . .

“In 1964 I was the first woman admitted to the first class at the UCLA School of Dentistry. I recently revisited the campus, and was impressed by improvements to the clinics, laboratories, research facilities and educational programs. I am proud to be part of such a successful institution.”
-- Dr. Margaret C. (Pan) Quon, Class of 1968

"I have been actively involved with the UCLA School of Dentistry for many years and while constant changes have taken place, one thing has remained the same: our students’ need for support. They are the reason I say ‘yes’ when asked to donate my time and ‘yes’ when asked to give back to the School.”
-- Dr. Melanie J. Gullett, Class of 1983

“If the UCLA School of Dentistry shines, it reflects brilliantly upon all of its graduates, faculty and administrators.”
-- Dr. Joan Otomo-Corgel, Class of 1976

Cragun“The Apollonian Society has helped to create an environment that far surpasses expectations of a public institution. We now have cubicles to call home, endodontic microscopes for undergraduate use, and funds to care for patients that cannot otherwise afford treatment, a gift that enables us to graduate on time. Since 2004 my classmates have become happier students. If my younger brother wanted to be a dentist, I would tell him, without hesitation, to attend UCLA.”
-- Dr. Jake Cragun, Class of 2008

Ronald S. Mito, DDS '76 and Thomas J. Rauth, DDS '73, Co-Chairs, Apollonian Society

Mito & RauthIn 2004 the UCLA School of Dentistry’s Apollonian Annual Fund was transformed into the membership-based Apollonian Society, which is dedicated to enhancing the student experience.  Since this transformation, the Apollonian Society has made great strides, funding innovative projects, strengthening morale among students and collectively contributing over $1.2 million to the School of Dentistry.

While our progress has been significant, we have much yet to accomplish. Educational expenses at UCLA have continued to rise while state and federal funding have declined, meaning that the School increasingly relies upon private gifts to provide the resources and opportunities that contribute to an outstanding student experience.

ApollonianAs alumni and dedicated oral health professionals, we can play a role in ensuring that today’s dental students become the future devoted practitioners of dentistry. Motivated, satisfied students appreciate and support the School and the profession, ensuring that the UCLA School of Dentistry continues to reflect favorably on all of us.

Membership in the Apollonian Society is open to all friends of the UCLA School of Dentistry–alumni, faculty members, residency program graduates, professional colleagues, and anyone else who has anGive Online interest in advancing oral health education.  By becoming a member, you are making a commitment to improving the dental student experience and showing your support of UCLA, one of the finest public universities in the world.  Please consider joining the Apollonian Society or renewing your support with a tax-deductible gift today.
