Our Goal: TO RAISE $30 Million in 10 Years

In 2005, as historic Campaign UCLA drew to a successful close, the UCLA School of Dentistry began a ten-year $30 million Endowment Campaign to help ensure the continued financial stability and innovative success of the School.

An endowment is a fund with a permanent base of money, or “principal,” that is dedicated to a specific purpose.  Unlike current expenditure funds, the endowment principal generates a yearly payout that can be utilized or re-invested.  Endowments provide financial stability and ensure that areas of critical importance, such as scholarships, research funds, and department chairs, will continue to thrive even in times of budgetary constraints.

Our $30 million fundraising goal is an ambitious one, but it is clearly within reach. Thanks to the generosity of several alumni and friends, we have already raised more than $8 Million since the campaign began.

There are opportunities for participation in the campaign at many gift levels, on an individual basis or in concert with family members, friends, colleagues, or classmates.  Contributions to existing or new endowment funds may be made by a single gift of cash, securities, real estate or other asset of value, or may be payable by a pledge over several years.  In most cases, there may be substantial tax benefits for such donations; however the most significant benefit is the personal satisfaction that comes from supporting an area with deep meaning to you.
