The Annual Alumni Breakfast/Lecture was held on Saturday Morning, October 24.
At 8:00 am, a record number of Alums (105) met in the Dental School reception area for breakfast and visiting. Then at 9:00am, the group walked across the breezeway to our main lecture room and listened to Dr. Edmond Hewlett ’80, our keynote speaker.
Dr. Hewlett covered several “Hot Dental Topics”. He first discussed new approaches to treating dental caries and “transitional restorations”. This was followed by a discussion of how to incorporate dental photography into your practice. His talk concluded with “how to prevent and avoid litigation.”

Find a UCLA Dentist (referral database)
UCLA-trained dentists are held in high regard and our alumni office receives daily calls from individuals who are seeking your professional services. If you would like to be included in our referral database, please forward your office address, phone number and email address to Dr. David Altman at firstname.lastname@example.org
This novel approach to lifelong learning provides a way for UCLA dental alumni to share their career knowledge and experiences with current students. Our students have shown great enthusiasm for the program and are currently seeking mentors to offer practice guidance.
This informal program is designed to accommodate busy schedules with an approximate time commitment of 2-4 hours per quarter. Mentors and mentees might meet for lunch, coffee or even by email.
By volunteering as a mentor, you can make a significant impact on a dental student embarking on the early stages of his or her career. To participate, please contact program facilitator, Todd Schoenbaum, DDS ’05 at email@example.com
