This course is a comprehensive overview of the current state of the HIV epidemic and the latest scientific and clinical discoveries in the field. The course provides an update on all the current HIV-related oral health issues, the medical management approaches to HIV disease and its comorbidities, and the psychosocial aspects of HIV risk and infection.
After completion of this course the participants will be able to identify the most common oral health issues related to HIV/AIDS in the era of HAART. In addition, they will be able to discuss the importance of oral health in the spectrum of HIV transmission risks and also as part of the HIV continuum of care.
