The Dean's Message

Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni and Friends,

If the events of the last quarter are any indication, I can confidently predict that the 2011-2012 fiscal year will be a very productive and exciting one at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Numerous faculty members have won new research grants and many have been awarded prestigious honors that have put an even greater spotlight on the School. I am also very pleased with our school's involvement in the CareNow/LA event, during which nearly 5,000 uninsured and underinsured people received free health care. It is this spirit of giving that makes our school so great; not only during the holidays but all year. I would like to thank all of you for your hard work and dedication without which the School could not operate. We remain committed to fulfilling our mission of improving the oral health of the people of California, the nation and the world. Again, thank you and happy holidays!
