Dr. Francesco Chiappelli elected to the rank of AAAS Fellow
Dr. Francesco Chiappelli has been elected to the rank of Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Each year the Council elects members whose “efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished.” He was honored for his distinguished contributions in the field of oral, dental and craniofacial research, particularly for his unique contributions to development of the field of evidence-based dentistry.

Dr. Perry Klokkevold selected for Fellowship in the American College of Dentists
Dr. Perry Klokkevold was inducted into the American College of Dentists as a new Fellow on October 11, 2011. The College was specifically conceived "to elevate the standards of dentistry, to encourage graduate study, and to grant Fellowship to those who have done meritorious work.” The Board selected him because of his exceptional leadership, achievements and involvement in the dental profession and in the community.
Dr. Francisco Ramos-Gomez joins the RWJF Harold Amos National Advisory Committee
Dr. Francisco Ramos-Gomez has joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Harold Amos National Advisory Committee (NAC) after the program expanded to include faculty in dentistry. For more than 25 years, the Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program has fostered diversity among U.S. medical school faculty, and will now work to do the same among dental school faculty.
Dr. Richard Stevenson wins the American Academy of Gold Foil Operators’ Clinician of the Year Award
The American Academy of Gold Foil Operators presented its Clinician of the Year Award to Dr. Richard G. Stevenson. This prestigious award was in recognition of his “endless pursuit for excellence both in his own practice as well as in the countless hours of teaching and mentoring that he is doing”.

Dr. Cun-Yu Wang has been elected to membership in the Institute of Medicine. Established in 1970, the Institute of Medicine is an independent, non-profit organization, which provides authoritative advice on issues of human health and medicine, including oral health. Election to the Institute of Medicine is considered one of the highest career honors among health care professionals.
