Teaching awards for Drs. Lee & Roos
Two members of the faculty of the David Geffen School of Medicine who also teach at the dental school, Dr. Eryn Ujita Lee and Dr. Kenneth Roos, have won teaching awards.
Two members of the faculty of the David Geffen School of Medicine who also teach at the dental school, Dr. Eryn Ujita Lee and Dr. Kenneth Roos, have won teaching awards. Dr. Lee, a member of the department of biological chemistry, and Dr. Roos, a member of the department of physiology, each received the 2011 Award for Excellence in Education at a special reception the evening of May 23, 2011.
According to Dr. Alan G. Robinson, UCLA associate vice chancellor for medical sciences, and Dr. LuAnn Wilkerson, the medical school’s senior associate dean for Medical Education, “These peer-reviewed awards were established to recognize outstanding dedication, innovation, and sustained excellence in clinical and classroom teaching. The recipients have distinguished themselves as exceptional educators.”
At the dental school, Dr. Lee organizes Foundations of Basic Science and Systems 2 (Gastrointestinal, Endocrine and Reproductive), while Dr. Roos teaches in Systems 1 (Cardio, Respiratory & Renal) and Systems 3 (Neuroanatomy and Musculoskeletal). Dr. Roos is also the medial school representative on the dental school’s curriculum committee.
