Caring for your teeth and mouth is vital to maintaining your health and your appearance. Even if you brush and floss regularly, you still need professional care to complete the job. The UCLA School of Dentistry offers a variety of general and specialty clinics where we provide complete dental care for you and your family.

All patients have a choice of having their care provided by a student dentist, postgraduate dentist or one of our world-renown dental faculty members. Fees vary by the level of dental provider. Most patients select student care because the cost of the care provided by student dentists is significantly discounted in consideration for their participation in the educational process.

Dental Student General Clinic

This Student General Clinic offers comprehensive state-of-the-art dental care for adults. When you become a patient, you will be assigned to a team of student dentists known as a vertical tier, comprised of a fourth year, third year and second year student. The students work together, each performing procedures for which they have been trained, thus providing continuity of care. All student procedures are closely supervised by faculty mentors at every stage of treatment.

In addition to being assigned to a student team, you will be assigned by a Group Practice Director who is a licensed dentist who will serve as a liaison between you, your student dentist and the faculty, should you require any assistance.

New Medi-Cal Courtesy Fee Schedule:  Due to the current economic crisis, the State of California has eliminated the Adult Denti-Cal program. As a courtesy, the dental student (predoctoral) general clinic in Westwood will offer special fees to eligible Medi-Cal patients. Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD)

The Advanced Education General Dentistry (AEGD) clinic provides training for post-doctoral residents in comprehensive dental care. Patients who want shorter appointments or who have more extensive dental needs might be good candidates for treatment in this clinic. Faculty is available at all clinic sessions for supervision and consultation. Emergency care is provided after hours.

Dental Anesthesia Service

The UCLA Dental Anesthesia Service provides anesthesia services at the UCLA School of Dentistry and in the surrounding community. Typical patients who may benefit from these services include children who are too young to cooperate with the dentist, patients who are highly anxious and/or are undergoing stressful dental procedures, patients with gagging or local anesthesia problems, and patients with physical, behavioral, and/or intellectual disabilities.

Graduate Orofacial Pain Clinic

The UCLA Graduate Orofacial Pain Clinic provides state-of-the art diagnosis and treatment for chronic orofacial pain conditions, based on current information and knowledge that is supported by appropriate research and studies. The clinic also provides dental devices for  patients referred with obstructive sleep apnea who cannot tolerate a CPAP device. The examination and treatment are provided under the direction of the Attending Faculty who are Board Certified and Diplomates of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain.

Maxillofacial Prosthetics/Hospital Dentistry/Graduate Prosthodontics

Hospital Dentistry - this practice provides Advanced Comprehensive General Dentistry for patients with severe medical, physical, and mental problems (pre and post organ transplant patients, cancer patients, immunoscompromised patients, special needs patients). This program also provides dental services under IV sedation and in an operating room setting for patients unable to receive treatment in a routine dental setting. Dental services are also provided on an emergency basis for in-patients and out-patients after hours.

Advanced Prosthodontics –this practice provides comprehensive dental care for complex, multidisciplinary  cases requiring fixed, removable and implant dental treatment.

Postgraduate Periodontics and Implant Surgery Clinic

The UCLA Postgraduate Periodontics and Implant Surgery Clinic is a specialty clinic providing non-surgical and surgical therapy for diseases of the supporting hard and soft tissues (periodontium) around the teeth as well as dental implant surgery needs for patients with missing teeth. Similar to most clinics in the UCLA School of Dentistry, our clinical program provides educational experiences for residents (dental school graduates) who have elected to pursue specialty training in Periodontics and Implant Surgery. Patients with a variety of periodontal and implant needs are treated by our residents under faculty supervision.

Faculty Group Dental Practice

In the heart of a world-renowned medical center, the UCLA Faculty Group Dental Practice offers individuals and families a place to receive a lifetime of quality dental care. The UCLA Faculty Group Dental Practice (FGDP) is comprised of a team of general practitioners, dental specialists, dental hygienists, and registered dental assistants. Together, the team discusses each patient's treatment options, allowing for efficient and coordinated care.

The FGDP offers dental services by UCLA faculty. In addition to providing general dental care, we offer services by pediatric dentists, orthodontists, implant specialists, prosthodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, endodontists, esthetic dentists, and geriatric dentists. All of these services are provided in one convenient location.

Periodontics and Implant Faculty Group Practice

The Periodontics and Implant Faculty Group Practice is a private practice staffed by the UCLA full-time clinical faculty in Periodontics. Patients are treated in a state-of-the-art environment to provide specialized care in the area of Periodontics and dental implant surgery treatments.

The UCLA Periodontics faculty have a broad experience in managing the whole range of cures for gum disease, dental implants and general health issues related to the mouth and are internationally known for their expertise. The faculty clinic has a very high standing in the United States.

Orofacial Pain/Oral Medicine Faculty Practice

The UCLA Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine Faculty Practice offers diagnostic and treatment expertise by world renowned faculty. Services are available at standard medical fees charged in the UCLA medical community.

The UCLA Orofacial Pain program uses a team approach to patient care that includes a comprehensive examination and an individualized treatment program. We emphasize conservative approaches: physical therapy, medication management and behavioral (stress) management. The strength of our program is our team of internationally known faculty including dentist, psychologists, physical therapists and consulting physician experts in orofacial pain.

UCLA Oral Medicine faculty provides comprehensive evaluation and management of a wide range of oral soft tissue diseases such as mucocutaneous and immunologic disorders, premalignant conditions and salivary gland diseases. Our philosophy towards patient care consists of an evidence-based approach and the use of the latest scientific knowledge and technology available in the field.

Oral Radiology

The Oral Radiology clinic makes radiographs (x-rays) of the teeth, jaws, skull, temporomandibular joints, and maxillary sinuses utilizing digital conventional (intraoral and extraoral) and advanced (Cone Beam CT) imaging modalities.  We also make orthodontic photographs and tracings of cephalometric views.  Board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology faculty review all advanced imaging examinations and provide written reports,  Our faculty also provide radiographic consultation services for patients referred from within UCLA or the surrounding dental communities.

Oral Pathology

The UCLA Oral Pathology Diagnostic Laboratory accepts biopsy and surgical tissue specimens for diagnosis from dentists and physicians in California and other states.  All services are provided by pathologists who are diplomates of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (ABOMP).  We provide expert diagnostic services within the scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

Wilson-Jennings-Bloomfield UCLA Venice Dental Center

The Wilson-Jennings-Bloomfield UCLA Venice Dental Center has been serving the community since 1976 and welcomes new patients to the practice. They offer comprehensive dental care for the entire family provided by dental students, residents and faculty. The clinic has grown from a five-chair storefront operation to a 27-chair state-of-the-art facility that sees more than 15,000 patient visits annually. Services at the facility include general dentistry, restorative dentistry, oral surgery, pediatrics, orthodontics, endodontics, implants, and more.
