Welcome to our newly funded R25 grant website. The overall goal of the program is to provide future academic dentists with the array of knowledge and skills needed to be successful in an academic career.

Here you will find comprehensive and up-to-date information regarding the opportunities accessible to our dental students and residents who participate in the Academic Track Program. Check back often as we build our site.

This program expands on existing strengths at UCLA, particularly a strong research faculty and a variety of research training grants, and offers professional development experiences such as networking, mentorship and apprenticeships in areas of teaching, research, and leadership. 

It is well known that there is a nationwide shortage of academic dentists and our main objective is to train students who are interested in academic careers, will be successful in their career goals, and become the future leaders of the profession.
