Dr. Fang Wei is a Associate Adjunct Professor in the Section of Oral Biology in the Division of Oral Biology and Medicine. Her current research focuses on biosensor for early diagnostics of high impact human disease via biomarkers in body fluids. Her research also relates to the product development of point-of-care handheld device.

Exosome Diagnostics

  • Real-time non-invasive monitoring of exosomal oncogenic mutations in human cancer patients in saliva and other body fluids
  • Rapid extraction of exosome from body fluids with magnetic beads
  • Clinical diagnostics based on the exosome and exosomal biomarkers

Bio-Nano materials and interface

  • Conducting polymer based micro-fabrication of biocompatible surface
  • Bio-abiotic interface constructed by DNA-dendrimer doped into pyrrole film which provided effective biomolecules modified surface

Feedback System Control for global optimization in biosensor
