Admissions & Applying

Requirements for admission to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Intern program are the following (Please see the PASS web site for complete instructions):

  • DDS/DMD from an ADA-accredited program

  • Comprehensive Basic Science Examination (CBSE)

  • National Board Dental Examination, Part 1(Official copies of scores must be emailed to:

  • Proof of your status as a US citizen, US permanent resident.

  • Only graduates of ADA (CODA) accredited United States or Canadian dental schools are eligible to apply. Only US citizens or students in the above group with permanent residence status are eligible for this program.                                                   
  • Graduates of foreign dental schools are not eligible for this intern program.

Application Process

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all materials are received. If an applicant with an incomplete file has sufficient merit based on the materials received to qualify for an interview, a conditional interview will be granted, contingent upon missing materials being received and the applicant still being deemed acceptable for an interview by the admissions committee.

Incomplete files will not be considered.


Application Deadline: February 1 (See PASS webstie for updates)

Match results will be released at the end of January, after which we will start looking for all non-MATCH applicants that have applied for the Internship through PASS. You should make sure that all your application materials are complete. If you applied to the UCLA OMS Residency Program on PASS, please contact PASS for instructions. They will charge a second application fee but may be able to transfer some of the information you have already submitted.

*Before the start of the program, incoming intern must verify and provide proof of authorization to work and study in the United States if they have permanent residence status.
