Interview with Susan Gerski
Dean Krebsbach:
What is your job title and what is your role in the school?
Susan:
My title is Registered Dental Assistant, but I have had many different jobs over the years. I started as an assistant in Radiology and it morphed into my current role. I assist on consults and explain consents for every new patient that enters our predoctoral program.
Dean Krebsbach:
How long have you been with the School of Dentistry?
Susan:
I am working on year number 50.
Dean Krebsbach:
That’s amazing. You must have worked for every single dean in the school’s history. How many deans have you gone through?
Susan:
Well…. I lose track. There were a few interim deans along the way.
Dean Krebsbach:
What do you like best about working here?
Susan:
I like working with the students the most. They are diverse and interesting. I enjoy hearing about their needs, worries, dreams, and aspirations. I think I have worked with every student who has ever entered this school, except the very first class.
Dean Krebsbach:
Wow! Do you realize we have about 5,000 alums? Incredible. 50 years and still going strong. I hope you enjoy many more years with us. Thank you.
