To apply to the UCLA Dentist-Scientist & Oral Health-Research Training Program, you must also apply to UCLA Graduate School in addition to the application process below. The UCLA Dentist-Scientist & Oral Health-Research Training Program provides support to U.S. citizens and resident aliens in the form of stipends, tuition fees, health insurance and research-related travel. The UCLA Dentist-Scientist & Oral Health-Research Training Program has the following five categories with application requirements. Application materials for any of the following programs should be sent to:

DDS/PhD (DTSP) Dentist Scientist Training Program

To apply, please submit the following via email or regular mail:

  3. Career Development Plan

  4. Brief Mentor Biography

  5. Research Plan

  6. Biographical sketch for applicant and other key personnel (mentor, collaborators, consultants). Please use the 4-page NIH format (PHS 398).

  7. Graduate and Undergraduate transcripts (if applicable)

  8. GRE and DAT Scores

  9. A letter from your proposed mentor (sent directly from mentor) supporting your application and research

  10. Two letters of recommendation (more than two may be submitted) sent directly from evaluators

Dentists pursuing PhD (DPhD)

To apply, please submit the following via email or regular mail:

  9. GRE and DAT scores, if applicable (PhD, PhD/Cert candidates)

  10. A letter from your proposed mentor (sent directly from mentor) supporting your application and research

Dentists pursuing postdoctoral research training (DSPF) Dentist Scientist Post-doctoral Fellow
