To apply to the UCLA Dentist-Scientist & Oral Health-Research Training Program, you must also apply to UCLA Graduate School in addition to the application process below. The program provides support, only to foreign applicants, in the form of salary, fringe benefits, tuition fees, health insurance and research-related travel. The UCLA Dentist-Scientist & Oral Health-Research Education Program has the following two categories with application requirements:

Dentists pursuing PhD (DPhD)

To apply, please submit the following via email or regular mail:

  1. Cover Letter

  2. Self-Statement

  3. Career Development Plan

  4. Brief Mentor Biography

  5. Research Plan

  6. Biographical sketch for applicant and other key personnel (mentor, collaborators, consultants). Please use the 4-page NIH format (PHS 398).

  7. Graduate and Undergraduate transcripts (if applicable)

  8. International DDS Certification Copy

  9. GRE and international DAT scores, if applicable (PhD, PhD/Cert candidates)

  10. A letter from your proposed mentor (sent directly from mentor) supporting your application and research

  11. Two letters of recommendation (more than two may be submitted) sent directly from evaluators

Dentists pursuing postdoctoral research training (DSPF) Dentist Scientist Post-doctoral Fellow
