Applying & Deadline

All individuals submitting an application to the 4-year DDS program must submit their primary application and materials through the ADEA American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS), which has its own application fees depending on the number of schools to which an applicant is applying.

The earliest date that students may submit an application to the AADSAS online application site is June 1. PLEASE NOTE: Applications submitted after January 1 will not be accepted.

After receiving an email notification, applicants must submit the following fee to the UCLA School of Dentistry:

  •  Application Fee – A non-refundable application fee of $60 U.S. dollars must be submitted on-line.

* Please wait for an email notification from our office with further instructions and do not pay the fee in advance in order to avoid delays with your application.

Although there is no official deadline, it is highly recommended that applicants pay the $60 fee within three (3) weeks of receiving the email from the Student Affairs Office.

To prevent delays, DO NOT submit the fee before receiving the email notification. Additional letters of recommendation and application updates submitted directly to the Student Affairs Office WILL NOT be considered. After paying the fee on-line, please allow 1-2 weeks for processing. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that his/her file is complete. Status updates will be provided on the AADSAS website and by email upon request and are not available over the phone. Only complete applications will be eligible for review by the Admissions Committee.

The Personal History Form (PHF) or secondary application is no longer required since the fall 2018 AADSAS application includes the supplemental questions.

Applicants will be notified of acceptance to the 4-year DDS program between December 1 and May 1 as we are on a rolling admissions timeline. Alternates may be notified later.
