A Resource for the Community

Wilshire Bank Partnership on October 12, 2013

Since our founding in 1964, public service and outreach has been a cornerstone of the UCLA School of Dentistry’s mission.

Through our community partnerships and public service efforts, we are able to provide quality oral health in the community and instill the importance of proper oral hygiene to the public-at-large, specifically in underserved populations in the greater Los Angeles area.

In addition to our long record of service of providing dental care to underserved populations, we are also engaging these populations in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through our educational pipeline programs. These programs along with recruitment efforts introduce young people to the exciting fields of dentistry and the health sciences.

Whether we are out in the community providing free dental care or improving the chances of a high school student's acceptance to a dental school, public service and outreach are important commitments to the School of Dentistry's faculty, staff, and students.
