The Section Restorative Dentistry offers preceptorship program in Restorative dentistry, which is an intensive one-year program designed to provide domestic- and foreign-trained dentists with a strong fundamental understanding and an improved skillset in the broad realm of operative and restorative dentistry.

The program consists of didactic courses and hands-on training in preclinical settings including direct and indirect restorations. Trainees will participate and observe clinics and seminars. Under one-to-one mentorship, each trainee will have an opportunity to be heavily involved in basic, translational, or clinical research related to restorative dentistry, and to participate in manuscript preparation and publication.

The goal of this non-CODA-accredited program is to educate the trainees the fundamentals of operative and restorative dentistry and to prepare them for the advancement to the next level in their dentistry career. A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of this one-year program.
